Beggin' Strips Barkus Pet Parade
When:
Sunday, January 27
- Registration begins at 10:00 a.m.
- Parade steps off at 1:00 p.m.
- Coronation Ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. in Soulard Farmers Market Park, where five lucky dogs will be crowned King, Queen, Prince, Princess and Jester of the 2007 Beggin' Strips Barkus Court by a group of local celebrity judges. Winners will be selected based on the creativity and colors of their Mardi Gras-themed costumes and their fun-loving, memorable personalities.

What:
Get ready for a PET-ACULAR event as thousands of four-legged friends and their owners hit the streets of Soulard for the 15th Annual Begginรข' Strips Barkus Pet Parade. There will be plenty of tail-wagging good fun as dogs and other lovable pets parade in their colorful Mardi Gras-themed costumes. And, this year the pets will be dressed to impress as they compete in the exciting new coronation ceremony that features local celebrity judges. Animal participants are subject to the approval of Mardi Gras, Inc. and the St. Louis Department of Animal Control based on appropriateness, temperament and health.
Cost:
Your $10 registration fee benefits Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill animal shelter just outside of St. Louis. All registrants will receive a Beggin' Party bag, filled with treats, gloves and a certificate of participation, and will be eligible to win one of five Beggin' Strips Barkus Court royal titles.
